In My Element (edit 01/19/2000) 01/18/2000 Clouds in the sky Sun in my eyes Grass and worms beneath my head Mother Earth becomes my bed Rain nips at my skin even as light rays grace my eyelids and thunder crashes so far in the distance, that I do not hear it but my heart feels it as it cycles my blood throughout me I became rather dirty in my element As I experience the earth Magnificent as it is, I can't help but fall asleep Lulled by sunset In the mud I will forever steep. ©2000 Katrina Kidwell Johnson
